Recent Projects
BDEL has undertaken a wide range of projects in fire and life safety including the development of a national fire safety strategy for persons with disabilities, a firefighter training program and educational training kits which are available to fire departments and community groups.

Experience
The firm has extensive experience working collaboratively with fire departments across the country in cooperation with our clients, to ensure that fire and life safety plans for people with disabilities comply with national, provincial and local regulations.
SEARCH
The firm has extensive experience in fire and life safety for people with disabilities having developed the Planning for Safety: Evacuating People Who Need Assistance in an Emergency for the federal government, and the Fire Safety for People with Disabilities Public Education Kit with the Canadian Paraplegic Association. We have implemented a training program for firefighters and members of the fire service, and are currently assisting SNC Lavalin and CBC with the development of a Comprehensive Fire and Life Safety Plan for all CBC Facilities. In addition, the firm is working with the Ottawa Convention Centre on their fire and life safety plan.
